Bedlinog set to Rock and roll

The Merthyr Express is reporting that the Welsh language festival Bedroc 2010 kicks-off next Friday (June 18), beginning with Menir Gwilym, Brigyn, Heather Jones and Ryan Kift all performing live.

Then, on the following night, Bryn Fôn, Yr Ods, Y Betti Galws and Yucatan take to the stage at the Workmen’s Hall and Institute in Bedlinog.

The acts will perform from 7pm to 11.30pm on both nights. The price for Friday or Saturday night is £7 each or you can get a weekend ticket to cover both for £10.

The weekend also includes free daytime activities and performances including Mudiad Meithrin activities for young children with Gwenda Owen, The Martyn Geraint Show and schools productions, family fun with S4C children’s characters and an acoustic stage.

There is also a Cymdeithas Yr Iaith stage with a number of high profile Welsh language music performers including Masters in France, El Parisa, Bevan a Batric and Nos Sadwrn Bach among others on the Saturday. The festival ends with a free folk music session and barbecue on Sunday.

Save Treharris nursery

Shocking!!! When The Lovely Mrs Williams retires this year there is a chance that the nursery at Treharris will relocate and become part of Edwardsville school...... this would be awful for lots of reasons firstly Edwardsville is fairly big and would be pretty daunting for our little ones to start there straight off!, secondly parking at Edwardsville is already a nightmare!! Thirdly Treharris Nursery is in a lovely building in a great location for all and has only been recently re-done which would mean its a waste to move it now and go to the expense of providing a suitable environment at Edwardsville school, as much as Mrs Williams does a wonderful job surely there is someone who can take over and the little nursery can stay put?
